Shay, I’m with you there. I’ve never run over 8 miles either! I signed up for the full. Hopefully I’ll stay injury free enough to complete the marathon.

I rolled my ankle while unloading my car tonight. I’m out on the marathon. 3rd ankle roll in fewer weeks. I’m not a runner…

There should be a beer mile inserted at the 13.1 mile mark… For those who can hack it.. Best time gets they’re own 6 pack of Ranger IPA when they’re done. I’m buying :)

On Sunday I ran 8 miles after eating some greasy bar food. Had planned on doing between 10 and 13 miles, but the heartburn was really bad. :(

Lindsey, that would probably be fine with us. More time to party for you afterwards! My ankle is being pretty lame. I’ll be happy if I can do the 5k. Back to the bike for me!

Cost? What cost? You just show up and have a good time. BYO water/food while running and BYO food and beer for the BBQ afterwards.

Ok, I either sprained or broke my little toe last Saturday (stubbed it not paying attention while hiking in Vibrams). The main joint is swollen, and I’m smart enough not to push through the pain and risk other injuries. I might just barely start running again in time to be ready for the 10 k, maybe 10 mile at a slow pace.

Is anyone free to join this run? What are the requirements? Fees? I just found this site from someone I work with.

    Thanks!

    Jason,
Send us an email but in general as long as you understand that you are running at your own risk, you know what you are doing, you bring some beer/food for BBQ, and are ok with making a few new friends then you are more than welcome to join! Just sign up on the list above.

Thank you for the response. What kind of times are folks expecting to run the marathon? I am thinking about doing it but I am SLOW….

During my morning run today I heard “given the difficulty of the course, I would be surprised if anyone finishes in under 4 hours”.
Since the marathon is two 10 mile loops and one 6 mile loop, if you find that you are wayyy slow and the sun is scorching you, you can stop after one or two loops.
