Training Frenzy: School Room West
Solana Beach, California. In a garage overlooking the ocean we train wednesday nights at sunset. Performance is abysmal. Success is measured in seconds of hanging on, not getting to the top.
Getting your ass off the ground at all is an achievement.
Still, week after week, we can feel the added strength creeping into our fingers.
This isn’t the kind of gym where you get bigger, or fitter. This is the kind of gym where you learn to crush. Which is, after all, what is best in life.

Introducing the School Room West.
Facilities:
- Campus Board
- Moon Board
- System Training
- Moon Hangboard with weights and pulleys
- Metolius rock rings

beautiful setup Stein!
That is exhausting to watch. How long was the session?
I think that’s about 2 hours compressed into 5 minutes.
This needs music!
There’s a point around 2:45 where one dude disappears into the large crashpad.
So far most of the sessions last 3-3.5 hours total, although the footage was 2hrs 10min condensed. Yeah, Nate must have gotten lazy about the music. He found some good songs too!
Just got back from Bishop and crushed better than ever out there.
Every time I felt the holds of a problem i thought: these holds are HUGE compared to the moon board.
I agree whole heartedly with Nate. Campusing on small V6 crimps felt very, VERY easy.
School Room West works!
